Globe Thistle has prickly foliage and produces blue, globe shaped flowers that have metallic appearance. They are drought tolerant and grow well in full sun with a light soil.

Cut the stems when the flowers heads are just beginning to open, at the peak of blue. Stripe off the prickly leaves which allows for easier handling later. Gather the stems and hang them upside down in dry, dark, open, airy place.
