Cultivation of Dahlia
Dahlia likes well-drained, humus rich soil. They also like full light. They can't grow under cooler climate with plenty of rainfall. To dig up dahlia, simply dig the frost soil off and then cut the stems back to about 6 inches. Set them out in a cool dry place to dry for a day or two. Basement or garages are ideal for this. After they have dried out a bit, dust them with a bit of fungicide and pack them away.

Then replant the tubers and wait until the growth reaches between a half inch to a full inch. Dig the plant back up and divide the clump into a few pieces. Each new clump needs to have a shoot on it.

Uses
Dried dahlia allow us to extend our garden pleasures. They are the most beautiful flowers used as everlastings in a dried arrangement. They can enhance the beauty and cheerfulness of any dried arrangements. They are best for all sorts of arrangements like wreaths and bouquets. They are also useful as beautiful centerpiece placed in a vase or decorative bottle. They are widely used for decorations and medicinal uses.
