Common Name: Silver Oak

It is a small slender tree with usually entire grey-green pendulous leaves and white or cream flowers.

The dried and powdered leaves have been successfully administered in ague. They are used for their astringent and febrifuge properties. The dried form is also used for ulcers in the mouth, spongy gums and for fixing loose teeth. They prevent scurvy. They are often added to potpourris for fragrance and the shiny texture.
