Mahogany Pod

These are large woody pods that are oval in shape with sharp tips and uneven base. They split at maturity from the base upward, releasing flat winged seeds about ¾" long. Dried mahogany pods add a great accent to your distinctive arrangement. They have excellent natural colors and are unique with a tan pod and tip that looks like dripped choclate on long stems. Swietenia mahogany is popular for making jewelries. The sections of dried pods are polished and made into earrings. They are also used to make scented potpourris using several combinations.
