Botanical Name: Erythrina VariegataCommon Names: Indian Coral Tree, Dapap, Badisa These plants are vigorous grower with scarlet flowers in racemes up to 6 inches long. They dont tolerate hard freeze. Its a tough plant as long as they are not freezed. Pandra nuts are hard, flat, unevenly shaped nuts. These nuts are brown in color and are used for making a blend of fragrant potpourris. They have certain healing properties and make a good scent for rooms and cars. Seeds are emetic, irritant and a fish poison. Paste of dried nuts is applied to inflammatory glandular swellings. The paste is also used for painful joints and swollen hands. They also make good medicinal soaps.
