Pine Needle
Pine Needles are pointed leaves of the pine trees. A large mass of pine
needle can be collected and washed in warm water with laundry soap and
a couple tablespoons of bleach. Bleach helps in removing the molds on
the needles. Lay the needles in a flat shallow box and put them to dry
in a warm room. When the needles are dried bundle them together and
store them.Uses Dried pine needles versatile in their uses. They are used to make beautiful, handy baskets. They are soaked in warm water to regain their flexibility before basket construction. They are also used as wonderful decorative pieces. Pine Needles are known to manufacture large concentrations of vitamin C and are used to make a medicinal tea. Dried needles are put in open jars to sweeten home enviroments. They are also placed in mattresses to ward of lice and fleas. Some traditional uses are immune system stimulant, to increase energy, for relieving muscle joint aches, and to ease breathing. Dried pine needles enhance the respiratory system and help maintain sinus passages. They also support healthy circulation and is good for fungus related problems.
