Sorgo, also known as sorghums, is a medicinal plant used for producing alcohol and glucose, as poultry feed, and for making brooms. It is a member of the grass family and is available in different varieties: Grain sorghums, sweet sorghums, grass sorghums, and broom corn. Grown from the branches of the seed cluster, broom corn is used to make brooms. Sweet sorghums have sweet juicy stems and can be used to make sweet syrups. They can also be made into animal feed or silage. Grass sorghums are grown for green feed and hay. The can also be weeds. Grain sorghums are coarse grasses.
At Green Earth, we collect Sorgo from different geographical areas of India. We supply sorgo fresh or dried depending on customer's specifications. While the fresh sorgo is used to make syrups and medicines, the dried ones are used in making brooms. In some cases, craftsmen also make use of dried sorgo in dry flower arrangement or making potpourri. Our sorgo is widely demanded for the latter purpose.
