Botanical Name: Echinochloa colonumCommon Names: Billion Dollar Grass Shama grass is a coarse annual grass cultivated in Japan and southeastern Asia for its edible seeds and for forage. Stem is erect spreading or lying horizontally on the ground and bending upwards but rooting from nodes in contact with the soil. These are used in their dried form to make a blend of potpourris and are used to flavor certain recipes. They can be used beautifully in dried arrangements.
