
Swags are green or dried material secured to some sort of flat frame.
Dried floral swags can enhance a doorway or banister for holidays and
events. They are made from glycerinized salal, white hydrangea, yarrow,
globe thistle, ammobium, and globe amaranth and several other types
attached to a common base. They form a wonderful gift to your near and
dear ones.
Method
- Gather a wheelbarrow full of garden trimmings.
- Cut the stems of dried flowers to a small length.
- Lay a long string or twine on a large flat surface.
- Tie a loop in one end of the string.
- Attach a floral wire to the loop end of the twine.
- Select several foliage pieces and place them together in a bunch,
with the stems at one end.
- Place the bundle at the loop end of the twine.
- Wrap the floral wire around the stems and twine to secure them in
place.
- Wrap the floral wire around the bundle twice.
- Lay several dried flowers on top of the bundle of foliage. Wrap
them with fire.
- Gather another bundle and place such that the stems overlap with
the first bundle.
- Continue overlapping the bunches and wiring them to the twine
until run out of string.
- Twist the wire tightly around last bundle, knot the wire and
string together.
- Cut the portions of wire not required.
- Beautiful dried flower swag is ready.
